Our Aho Kāinga Cushion Covers were inspired by our desire to create a home environment that reflects our culture and identity in the most every-day ways. To make our unique visual language in Aotearoa so normal that it is our reference point, our native-language for all other styling and aesthetics. Layer them up and enjoy.

We recommend you select a cushion inner slightly larger than the cushion cover for a fuller more luxurious feel. Cushion inners can be purchased from most homewares, bed linens or fabrics stores.

Invisible Zip Closure.

Does not include cushion insert.

Design: A fabric of relationship and connection. Woven of whakapapa. Infinitely complex and ever evolving. Stretching through time and space. Connecting us to one another. To people and to place- past, present and future.

Colour: Te Poho Pihipihi - Named for the chest of the waxeye. The Pihipihi is that beautiful tiny manu (bird) who harvests the nectar of the harakeke. It is a soft natural warmish light grey, contrasted with a charcoal print.

Please note: Despite every effort to provide accurate images of each product's colour and design, actual colours may vary slightly, due to different device screen settings and slight variations in lighting during photography.

Composition: 85% Organic Cotton, 15% Indian grown Flax.

Fabrics: Our fabrics are made from organic and sustainable natural fibres. In their production we work with a team in India who practice fair trade and kaitiakitanga (stewardship), ensuring that the process is sustainable for both the whenua (lands and environments), and the people who grow and develop the materials.

The materials are dyed with certified non-toxic dyes and the water used in the process is recirculated within a closed loop processing plant. To learn more about the whakapapa of our cotton, from seed to finishing, you can see the journey here.

Fabric Care:

To ensure the greatest lifespan for these textiles please treat them with care. Wash when necessary in cool or warm water with a mild detergent. Wash with similar colours and do not bleach. Line dry in the shade. Iron if necessary.

Size: 45cm x 45cm and 55cm x 55cm

Māoritanga on display

I love my cushion covers. I now have 5 of them. The quality and feel is perfect and comfortable. The little story behind each design is so thoughtful and great that it is shared with those purchasing your amazing pieces. If I could justify purchasing more I would.
