Manawa nui translates literally to ‘big hearted’, and encompasses the āhua (characteristics) and aspirations of the many wāhine in our lives. A practical kākahu for those who love and serve and care and nurture, foster and fight for our whānau and futures.
This tee is a comfortable boxy fit with loose a cuffed sleeve. With belt-loops at the waist and a fabric tie, this tee can be cinched in at the waist, tied at the reverse or left loose. It sits comfortable at the hip line with a slight curve on the hem.
This garment is designed to be reversible- wear it with the flattering v-shaped neckline, or reverse the dress for a higher boat-style neckline.
Our garments are designed with comfort, form and function in mind. We have created a generous fit that allows this garment to carry you with confidence through life’s seasons and natural fluctuations. Your fit should be true, however we would recommend measuring yourself if you're unsure.
Design Details
The print design Rauru is inspired by the energy of new life and unfolding potential. ‘Rauru’ is quite literally the maternal end of the umbilical cord- the flow of life. It is the embrace of two elements in whakairo;a double spiral. The twining of multiple threads in raranga. And in the space between this embrace, dwell light, life and energy.
Material
85% Certified Organic Cotton, 15% Indian Flax Linen (Cream and Navy)
This fabric has a natural slightly textured hand feel. It is a slightly heavier weight fabric to the Cotton-Linen blend, but is a comfortable medium weight with a natural breathability.
Certified organic cotton is grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers or hazardous pesticides, which protects biodiversity and waterways and builds and maintains soil fertility.
Both Cotton and Linen from the flax plant are sustainable, renewable and biodegradable fibres.
