Inspired by some beautiful kōrero by Dr Ngahuia Murphy on the @nukuwomen
podcast, this piece is an exploration of that elemental essence.
The energy that tingles in your spine, that reverberates, rhythms and ripples through our being. Intangible and electric. A pattern as a reflection of my processing of whakaaro.
These pieces are cut from 300gsm A3 sized archival quality watercolour paper.
There are two options which include either a. Paper + Hanger or b. Paper Only.
The hangers are made from river-salvaged native Rimu exclusively for us.
They are made to fit the A3 Papercut and are 29cm in length.
The waxed cotton cord is included however whether you use it or not is up to you. You can attach the string to the wooden strips at the length of your preference and hang it on a hook/ nail, or alternatively, use command strips to adhere the wood directly to your wall. The hanger suspends the paper between two magnets so will not damage the paper.
If you purchase without the hanger, we've found that a floating mount is a beautiful way to present these paper cuts so as to maintain the shadow/ light play of white-on-white.
This piece is a limited edition and your cut will be named and numbered x/100
