Inspired by the whakataukī Poipoia te kākano kia puāwai, Nuture the seed so that it may blossom.
The whakaaro behind this piece was the notion that where we pour out our attention, energy and focus, this will flourish- whatever it may be. Like tending a seed, gentle, regular and intentional action.
So be it our whānau, our tamariki, our creative endeavors, mahi, goals or aspirations, by our nuturing, may they bloom. Lay down roots, grow, flourish.
These pieces are cut from 300gsm A3 sized archival quality watercolour paper.
There are two options which include either a. Paper + Hanger or b. Paper Only.
The hangers are made from river-salvaged native Rimu exclusively for us.
They are made to fit the A3 Papercut and are 29cm in length.
The waxed cotton cord is included however whether you use it or not is up to you. You can attach the string to the wooden strips at the length of your preference and hang it on a hook/ nail, or alternatively, use command strips to adhere the wood directly to your wall. The hanger suspends the paper between two magnets so will not damage the paper.
If you purchase without the hanger, we've found that a floating mount is a beautiful way to present these paper cuts so as to maintain the shadow/ light play of white-on-white.
