Kāwai Wrap, Pounamu

$41.50

The Aho Pēpi Muslin Wrap is made from 100% organic cotton that is soft on your baby’s skin. This natural fibre is lightweight and naturally breathable for pēpis’ comfort.

The Kāwai wrap draws its inspiration from the whakataukī (proverb) "Kia ū ki tou kāwai tūpuna, kia mātauria ai, i ahu mai koe ihea e anga ana koe ko hea".
"Trace out your ancestral stem, so that is may be known where you come from and where you are going".
Kāwai- a shoot or tendril of a vine-like plant, such as the Kumara, or metaphorically, a line of descent or lineage.

The design was initially a lino-cut print inspired conceptually by the above whakataukī and drawing design inspiration from the repeat patterns of the Arts and Crafts movement of the early twentieth century.
The colour, Pounamu, is a deep green with a touch of blue.

Designed in Aotearoa.
Made in India.
For your pēpi.

Beautiful design and colour

These wraps are the only ones I buy for my friends/family who are welcoming new additions into the family. I love the sustainability message on the front, the versatility and quality of the wrap and the particular shade of colour.
