This taonga is an Aho Whānau collaboration. Originally conceived by my parents for their moko, our tamāhine, as a space to play, learn, enact and normalise Te Ao Māori within our home.
My Māmā, Janette, a lifelong educator and innovator came up with the concept, and as always, roped in my Pāpā, Don, who in his spare time is a master woodworker and problem solver, and my brother Reuben has provided the carving innovations with his cnc-ing skills.
This product is 100% New Zealand made.
Made with aroha and attention to detail, we hope they'll become a taonga tuku iho, an heirloom piece that can be loved and played with for generations to come.
